Being in an offside position and committing an offside offence are different questions. A forward-looking freeze-frame does not settle the entire decision.
What to observe
Identify the relevant moment and reference positions rather than using a reception-time screenshot for the whole sequence. Broadcast angles can distort distance. An improvised line from an unsuitable view is not an official assessment.
How to read the sequence
Position alone does not establish an offence; involvement must be considered under the rules. When discussing interference with an opponent, examine the effect of the action rather than reducing every case to whether the player touched the ball.
Limits and checks
Consult the applicable edition for boundaries and special situations. A viewing guide helps organise questions but does not replace the complete law or the match officials’ procedure. When citing an example, check that its circumstances are actually comparable.
This is a viewing and analysis guide, not a current match report. Consult the relevant official reference for rules or statistical terminology: IFAB。
